9.3
The Company shall require proof satisfactory to the
Company of any total disability and, at such intervals as
the Company may require proof satisfactory to the
Company of continuing disability. The Policyholder shall
supply such evidence and in such form as the Company
may require, including medical certificates, and shall be
responsible for the cost of such evidence.
9.4
The Life Assured shall submit to a medical examination as
often as required by the Company and with such medical
practitioner as the Company may decide. Should the
foregoing requirements not be complied with then the
Waiver of Premium Benefit will cease to apply.
9.5
This benefit shall not apply in respect of any total disability
arising directly or indirectly from:
9.5.1 intentional self-inflicted injury whilst sane or insane;
9.5.2 the taking of drugs (other than under the supervision of a
registered medical practitioner other than the Life Assured)
or alcohol or poisonous substances including the inhalation
of gases or fumes;
9.5.3 participation in any criminal act;
9.5.4 participation in any riot, civil commotion, insurrection or
war (whether war has been declared or not) or any act
or incident thereto;
9.5.5 engaging in any form of racing (including time trials),
diving or climbing;
9.5.6 participation in any form of aviation except as a fare
paying passenger on a commercially licensed passenger
aircraft;
9.5.7 pregnancy, childbirth or termination of pregnancy unless
disability continues for longer than 6 months after the date
of the termination of the pregnancy;
9.5.8 Failure to seek or follow proper medical advice.
9.6
This benefit terminates on the earliest of:-
9.6.1 the Life Assured's 100th birthday;
9.6.2 the date on which the Policy expires;
9.6.3 the termination of the Policy,
9.6.4 the date of termination of the disability.
9.7
For the purposes of Waiver of Premium Benefit where the
Policy is on joint lives the term Life Assured shall mean the
person nominated in the Schedule.
9.8
The charge for this optional benefit is the additional
premium shown in the Schedule plus any increases in this
premium in connection with increased Basic Premium.
10
Accidental Death Benefit
10.1 The amount payable on "Accidental Death" is the
"Accidental Death Benefit" displayed on the Policy
Schedule. The amount payable will be the lesser of
$1, 000,000 or the sum assured. Accidental Death means
death that:
10.1.1 Results, directly and independently of all other causes,
from bodily injury caused while this benefit is in force by
an external and violent accident
10.1.2 Occurs within 90 days after the accident; but
10.1.3 Does not result from any of the causes listed in the
"Exceptions" section below.
10.2 Exceptions. The Accidental Death Benefit is not paid if the
death results directly or indirectly from any of the following:
10.2.1 No payments shall be made if death was directly or
indirectly occasioned by or accelerated by self inflicted
injuries.
10.2.2 Taking or absorbing, accidentally or otherwise, any drug
medicine, sedative or poison, except as prescribed by a
licensed doctor other than the life insured.
10.2.3 Inhaling any gas or fumes, accidentally or otherwise,
except accidentally in the course of duty
10.2.4 Committing or trying to commit an assault or criminal offence
10.2.5 War or any act incident to war. "War" means any war,
declared or not, including civil war and guerilla war; or
any other conflict of any country involving the armed
forces of any country or international body
10.2.6 Service in the armed forces, or any auxiliary force, of any
country at war
10.2.7 Travel in any aircraft, other than as a fare paying passenger
on a commercially licensed passenger aircraft, or descent
from any aircraft in flight.
10.3 Termination. The rider terminates on the earliest of:
10.3.1 Age 100;
10.3.2 Termination of the Policy; or
10.3.3 By written request of the Policy Owner.
10.4 The charge for this optional benefit is the additional
premium shown on the Policy Schedule plus any increases
in this premium in connection with increased Basic Premium.

Beneficiary
11.1 The designation of a beneficiary in the Policy or in any
declaration in writing by the Policy Owner shall create a
trust in favour of the beneficiary for the proceeds of the
Policy, if and when the proceeds of the Policy become
payable upon the death of the Life Assured (first to die for
joint life first death, second to die for joint life second
death). Beneficiaries may be in two classes; primary or
secondary Beneficiaries in the same class will share equally
in any Death Benefit payable to them, unless a designation
from the Policy Owner states otherwise.
11.2 The Nomination of a Beneficiary will fail if any of the
following circumstances
